After the death of her husband she stayed on their farm then bought at 84 Fife Avenue, Salisbury, where she stayed with her son Victor.
On 7 Aug 1928 she sailed from Cape Town to Southampton, England with a destination address of Colton Vicarage - obviously to visit her son George "Fritz" who was the vicar. She was accompanied by her daughter Jessi F Arnold aged 17.
