LaVerne Mae Dwyer, 86 10/23/1924 11/04/2010

LaVerne joined Ralph, her beloved husband of 67 years, after his passing in June 2010. A love story for the ages is their legacy.

She was a beautiful, welcoming, loving, and gracious woman, with boundless energy and spirit. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

During her lifetime she had a number of vocations, but her true calling was to be a loving mother to her daughters, Diane Rosa and Sherry Rosenfeld (Will Rosenfeld); five adoring grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She always said charity begins at home, and she lived by that. LaVerne and Ralph's home on Oswego Lake in Lake Oswego was a wonderful playground for family and friends for 45 years. For the past five years, they enjoyed their urban lifestyle in downtown Portland.

A service will be at 1:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, in St. Michael the Archangel Church, Portland. In lieu of flowers, gifts of remembrance may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Church, 424 S.W. Mill St., Portland, OR 97201.
