Ret. Machinist, 61
Otto Ronald Schreib of Sparrowbush, a 25-year area resident and a retired machinist at Kolmar Labs in Port Jervis where he worked for more than 20 years, died Wednesday, October 15, 2003, at the Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis. He was 61 years of age.
The son of Ann Fischer Schreib and the late Otto James Schreib, he was born January 3, 1942, in Paterson, N.J.
Mr. Schreib was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Port Jervis, the National Rifle Association and the Tri-State Rod and Gun Club. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
In a family statement, it was said, "Otto was a devoted husband, son, father, brother and grandfather who loved the great outdoors."
He is survived by his wife, Lee Ann Inghrim Schreib, at home; his mother of Port Jervis; two sons and daughters-in-law, Alex and Rebecca Schreib of Ithaca, and Wayne and Trisha Hoose of El Paso, Tex.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Donna and James Eckart of Huguenot, Carol and Scott McDonald of Hamden, Conn., and Kim Hoose of Cupertino, Calif.; a sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Lou Harraka of Fairfield, N.J.; four grandchildren, Jimmy, Ryan, Andrew and Toni; and several nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He also leaves his cat, Tigger.
A Holy Eucharist Service was held Monday at Grace Episcopal Church in Port Jervis.
Burial was made in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Sparrowbush.
