[37567] Joan Olive Wiedemann
February 25, 1929 - May 3, 2019

It is with heavy hearts, that we
announce Joan Olive Wiedemann passed away in the
early morning hours of May 3, 2019, at
the Rockyview General Hospital. Joan
is remembered for her easy laugh and
great sense of humor, she also enjoyed
a spirited debate. She loved playing
cards and bingo, travelling, reading and
watching sports. Joan was predeceased
by her loving husband Otto.
She is survived by her two sisters, Betty
Tolfree and Eleanor Heichert, her four
children, Tom (Corinne), Sue, Jeff
(Dawn), Jim, and eight grandchildren,
Ryan, Andrew, Scott, Jessica, Mikayla,
Bryce, Olivia, and Anna.
We would like to extend a very special
thanks to all of the exceptional nurses of
Unit 73 at the Rockyview General
Hospital, in particular, Lawrence and
Ruth, for their kindness and
compassion in her final days.
To honor Joan's wishes not to "make a
fuss", a simple memorial will be held for family
and friends on May 15, 2019.
Otto and Joan were both huge
supporters of organ donation, in lieu of
flowers or cards, please consider
signing your organ donor card and/or
make a donation on Joan's behalf to your
favorite charity.
