MARRIAGE from Ashton parish register, NRO ref. 17p/4, no. 191. Listed as Elizabeth Robinson, but I am assuming this was her marriage name and that she was a widow at this time. This matches with records of grandchildren in the 1851 census.
CENSUS 1841 Upper End, Ashton, FHL film 0438873 Enumerator 2, page 11, folio 9. Born in county, age 55. A mason.
CENSUS 1851 Ashton, FHL film 0087692 Enumerator 14, folio 330 page 12, no 47. Age 68. He was a journeyman mason.
NOTE The Rev Neely's "census" of 1853 lists a grandaughter still with them.

NOTE the Scrapbook of Ashton (1953) (Page 12, col.1) speculates that he came to Ashton as a mason in connection with the railway. It correctly links him to Paulerspury, though by inference with other masons of that name there
